A: Yes! From simple paint color consultations to designing entire homes, no job is too big or too small.
Q: Is it possible to use what I already own or do I need to start from scratch?
A: It's really up to you! Many clients have special things that they love and absolutely want to use such as collections, heirloom furniture, or artwork. These pieces help to make the space more personal and can often be used as a starting point in the design. If you're moving into a new home and need everything, we will find the things you need to suit your personality and lifestyle. If you are looking for a redesign, we can choose pieces throughout your home and use what you already own. If necessary, additional pieces can be added.
Q: I'm planning on redesigning my home, how does the design process work and with whom will I be working?
A: You will be working directly with Kim Gard, the Principal and Senior Designer. Our design process is as follows:
-The Consultation: To start the design process, we will meet with you in your home for an initial one hour consultation. This time will be spent getting to know you and the details of your project.
-The Contract: At the initial meeting I will ask that you sign our contract and collect the retainer. The contract gives you a clear understanding of our policies, fees and business operations from the onset and also establishes the mutual respect, confidence and trust between designer and client, crucial to the success of a project.
-The Design: And the designing begins! We will go over the plans I've designed for your project. Depending on the extent of your project, plans may include floorplans, paint colors, furniture, finishes, accessories or a re-arrangement of your space.
-The Dirty Work: Contractors (either yours or mine) will then be hired to perform any work that needs to be done, orders will be placed, and we will begin shopping for any items needed.
-The Finishing Touches: Once all work has been completed, all orders have been received and everything needed has been purchased, we will do a final install and everything will be put in it's place. At this point, you just sit back and enjoy your wonderful new space!
Q: How much do you charge for a consultation?
A: We work on an hourly basis of $60.00 per hour with a minimum of one hour. Local sales tax and, in some instances, travel expenses, are additional. Design services include all time spent with the client, as well as any additional time needed for furniture layout, color coordination and product selection. Large jobs may require a retainer fee. Currently, we are unable to accept credit cards.
Q: Where are you located and where do you work?
A: K. Gard Interiors is located near the historic district of Dublin, Ohio. Mainly, we work in and around the Columbus and Dublin, Ohio areas. However, we will be happy to consider any additional locations. Please contact us to discuss any ideas that you may have.
